Possible Side Effects
- Temporary discomfort, feeling of "tightness" in the eyelid area, swelling or bruising.
- Tearing and sensitivity to light for the first few weeks may occur.
- Rarely temporary dryness, burning, or itching of eyes may occur
Risks
- Temporary blurred or double vision, infection, bleeding, swelling at the corners of the eyelids, dry eyes, formation of whiteheads, slight asymmetry in healing or scarring, difficulty in closing eyes completely during the healing phase.
- Permanent loss of vision (due to hematoma / bleeding after surgery) is a risk but this is extremely rare. In the event that bleeding does occur post-operatively prompt management is likely to avert this rare complication.

- Bruising and swelling should be gone after 2-3 weeks.
- You can expect to return to work at approximately five to seven days.
- Use of contact lens may be resumed after two weeks.
- More strenuous activities may be resumed after three weeks.
Results
For most the benefits of this procedure yields permanent results. After many years and with persistence of the ageing process some recurrent upper skin laxity is likely, but this seldom requires correction. It is more likely that recurrence in the appearance of tired or sad eyes is due to descent of the outer eyebrow that may need correction.
